Last night, at Sunday, 16th December 2007, at twelve o’clock (GMT+7) the winner of the First Asian Idol has been announced. The SMS voters vote Hardy Mirza, a young male singer from Singapore. He was a winner of Singapore Idol and then He elected to go to the Asian Idol Competition represented Singapore. No one of the juries predict Him to be a winner. Most of the juries predict that the most two strong candidate of winner are Mike from Indonesia and Jaclyn from Malaysia. But, things goes different, a lot number of SMS agreed to choose him to be the First Asian Idol.

So, why one of the most unpredictable candidates can be a winner? Why not the most predictable candidate? Check out this analysis by myself :p. As we know before, the SMS voter of the Asian Idol must choose two candidates in every SMS they are sent. Must choose two candidates. So, here are the explanation. There are six candidates to be an Asian Idol, Abhijeet Sawant from India, Jaclyn Victor from Malaysia, Mike Mohede from Indonesia (as the host), Mau Marcelo from Philippines,Phuong Vyfrom Vietnam and Hady Mirza from Singapore. The most predictable candidates are Mike, Jaclyn and Mau. Check these out.

If you are Indonesian, who are the two candidates you’ll choose? Of course, Mike (your represented singer) and the other is one of the underestimated candidate (may be Hardy, Abhijeet, or Phuong. Lets call them small trio). So Mike will get one vote and the other will get one too. If you are Malaysian, of course choose Jaclyn and the another is one of the small trio. If your are philipphine, of course you’ll choose Mau and one of the small trio. And so on with the rest people in India, Singapore and Vietnam. Don’t forget too, the small trio still get a lot of votes from their origin country beside the additional votes from other candidates. So, one of the small trio will get benefit from the choose two system. The opinion is pure come from myself. I’ve told it without underestimated the singing ability of Hady Mirza. However, he is the winner of Singapore Idol. So, congratulations for Hady Mirza to be the First Asian Idol Winner. Just practice for get better singing ability in the future Mr Hady.
