The GMP Guidelines have been produced to offer assistance to the cosmetic industry in compliance with the provisions of the ASEAN Cosmetic Directive. As this document is particularly intended for cosmetic products, clear delineation from drug or pharmaceutical product GMP should be kept in mind.

The Good Manufacturing Practices presented here is only a general guideline for the manufacturers to develop its own internal quality management system and procedures. The important objective must be met in any case, i.e. the final products must meet the quality standards appropriate to their intended use

Adanya bermacam-macam Database Management System (DBMS) dengan berbagai variasinya menyebabkan tiap DBMS ditempatkan pada komputer yang berbeda-beda untuk memaksimalkan kinerjanya. Hal ini menimbulkan kesulitan ketika pengguna ingin mengelola DBMS di suatu komputer, pengguna harus mengetahui alamat komputer bersangkutan, dan harus memiliki driver serta aplikasi antarmuka pendukung DBMS tersebut. Tanpa mengetahui alamat komputernya, pengguna tidak bisa menggunakan DBMS tersebut.

Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, dalam pengerjaan tugas akhir ini dikembangkan aplikasi Singular Database Management System Manager, yang terdiri dari control point dan device, yang berbasis teknologi Universal Plug and Play (UPnP). UPnP adalah arsitektur koneksi jaringan yang mendukung penemuan otomatis berbagai macam perangkat dan memungkinkan suatu aplikasi atau perangkat berkomunikasi dengan aplikasi atau perangkat lain dalam jaringan dekat (proximity network)

ABSTRACT

PHYSICAL STABILITY AND EFFECTIVENESS OF SUNSCREEN PRODUCT CONTAINING OXYBENZONE AND OCTYL METHOXYCINNAMATE IN CARBOMER 940 GEL WITH THE ADDITION OF GLYCOLIC ACID

The aim of this research is to know the effect of glycolic acid addition with the concentration of 8, 10, and 12% w/w on physical stability and effectiveness of sunscreen product containing oxybenzone and octyl methoxycinnamate (2 : 7% w/w) in carbomer 940 gel. The physical stability test is done by observing physical appearance, pH, and spreading ability on the 2nd, 7th, 14th, 30th, and 60th day after the product is made; while effectiveness test is done by in vitro determination of SPF (Sun Protection Factor) value with spectrophotometric method. The result of the physical stability test showed that glycolic acid addition affects the physical appearance (consistency) of sunscreen product, but pH and spreading ability are relatively stable during the storage; while effectiveness test showed that the addition of glycolic acid has an effect on SPF value of sunscreen product.
